The Akali struggle from 1920 to 1925 was the result of the formation of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). The SGPC is known as the ‘parliament of Sikhs’. The SGPC has occupied a very important place in the Sikh history as well as in the regional and national history. A good number of scholars, at various points of time, have discussed and tried to analyze the formation and working of the SGPC.
